vol.63 物づくり（食品加工）と薬事法

今年に入り地元の保健所から呼び出しを受けました。
弊社の取り扱うヤーコン及びヤーコン製品の説明内容が薬事法に抵触しているとのことでした。
誇大広告による被害から消費者を守る立場にある厚生労働省、
そして実行部隊としての保健所の役割は十分承知しているところです。

医学的科学的に公知の事実を書いても、それが製品の効果効能を暗示すると言う理由で許されないのです。
例えば、インスリンはアルカリ性体質（pH７,２〜７，４）で働き、酸性体質（ｐH６,８〜７,２）では
十分には働かないことが公知ですが、インスリンと言う言葉が入るだけでダメなのです。
また、体験談やヤーコンの本を製品とともに紹介することも認められません。

物づくりには開発理念があり、理念に沿って製品化を行います。
ヤーコンはオリゴ糖と食物繊維で成り立つ野菜ですから、ダイエタリー食材であり、
かつ腸内を大掃除し腸内環境を整える優れた食材であると考えたからこそ製品開発に熱中したのです。
一方で中小企業にできない医薬品開発や、薬的なサプリメント開発も行わないとの開発方針を持っています。

ヤーコンは日本での歴史が浅いため、多くの消費者は知りません。今でも、「ヤーコンって何ですか」
「ヤーコンは何に効くのですか」と問われます。これにお答えすることは製造者の当然の義務であります。
また、製品開発者の想い、コンセプトを消費者にお伝えすることもあって良いことでしょう。
消費者の知りたいヤーコン成分とその働き、開発の狙いなどはしばしば薬事法に触れ書けないのです。
